I AM NOT ALONE, THE HOLY SPIRIT IS IN ME.

Biblical Context
“And being assembled together, he commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said unto them, ye have heard of me. For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.” Acts 1:4-5

This passage is found at the beginning of the book of Acts, which narrates the events following the resurrection of Jesus. The disciples, after Jesus' ascension into heaven, are gathered in Jerusalem. Jesus, before ascending, had given them this important instruction.

Wait for the promise of the Father:
Jesus instructs them not to disperse but to wait in Jerusalem. This “promise of the Father” to which Jesus refers is the baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience that would radically transform the disciples and empower them to be his witnesses in the world.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit:
Jesus contrasts John's baptism with water with the baptism in the Holy Spirit that they would receive. This latter baptism is not an external ceremony, but an internal experience that would fill them with the power of God to carry out their mission.

Acts 1:4-5
It shows us the importance of waiting on God and His Holy Spirit. It reminds us that as children of GOD and Disciples of Jesus, we must wait for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, for He gives us all the tools, wisdom and anointing to do what He has commanded us.
