You Are Not a "System Error": You Were Designed for a Purpose
We are neither a calculation error nor the result of chance; our lives respond to an intentional design that began long before we started questioning who we are. If we look at Paul, we find a clear example of this divine strategy. God strategically placed him in a home that allowed him to be trained as a Pharisee while, at the same time, inheriting Roman citizenship. That combination was not luck, but a meticulous preparation: as a Roman citizen, his cultural formation was of a higher level, allowing him to navigate between different cultures and social strata with unique authority. Acts 9:15: "But the Lord said to him, 'Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.'"
The formation of Paul of Tarsus was, in essence, the union of two worlds: the depth of the Hebrew tradition and the openness of Hellenistic thought. Having grown up in Tarsus, an intellectual epicenter of the first century, he was able to develop a mindset capable of building bridges between different worldviews. Although he did not attend a formal academy, his home city's environment immersed him in Stoic philosophy and the linguistic mastery necessary to understand the Gentile mindset. This cultural foundation was complemented by his rigorous religious preparation, initiated in his local environment and consolidated in Jerusalem under the tutelage of Gamaliel, where he delved into the Law and the Scriptures.
Thanks to this background, Paul spoke Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, which gave him the capacity to teach both Jews and Gentiles with complete authority. His command of Greek rhetoric allowed him to connect in diverse scenarios, from Jewish synagogues to the philosophical forums of Athens, quoting poets and thinkers to explain the Gospel within their own cultural framework. Furthermore, this technical preparation granted him an exceptional ability to write and compose profound texts, a talent that God used to make Paul the author of a large portion of the New Testament. It was no coincidence: his culture, his knowledge of the Law, and his citizenship were key tools that allowed him to move fluidly throughout the Empire.
Today, that same principle applies to you. Every piece of your history—the place where you grew up, your studies, the challenges you have overcome, and your natural talents—are not coincidences, but rather "training" designed with precision so that today you are exactly where God wants you to be. What you do professionally and the gifts you possess are not just for your personal benefit; they are the divine DNA that God has aligned in you since your childhood so that, when surrendered, they may become a powerful instrument in the hands of the Holy Spirit.
As Acts 9:15 says, you are a "chosen instrument." Stop viewing your background as something ordinary and start seeing it as the toolkit that the "Designer" has prepared for you. It is not about being the most popular, but about being available. When you give God your creativity and your career, He gives them a spiritual "upgrade" so that your life can change the game. You have a specific purpose that no one else can fulfill; when you let the Holy Spirit take the lead, you understand that you are not here by accident, but to carry His name to places that no one else could reach with your voice and your style.
