THE DARK FOCUS TRAP

BIBLICAL CONTEXT
When you are at the bottom of an emotional or social "pit"—whether due to betrayal, a mistake, or a situation you didn’t choose—you have two focus options. You can look down, concentrating on the darkness, the cold, and the injustice of those who threw you there, which only fuels bitterness and stagnation. But you can also do what Joseph did: look up, toward the only opening where light enters, recognizing that your current situation is not your final destination. — Genesis 37:22-28 / John 8:12

HACKING THE SYSTEM FROM THE BOTTOM
In practice, looking up means deciding that your environment does not define your identity. Jesus says in John 8:12: "I am the light of the world." When you decide to focus your attention on Him, that light "hacks" the darkness of your pit. No matter how deep you fall, the light of Jesus always reaches the bottom to remind you that there is a way out and a purpose that the darkness cannot extinguish. T

STOP SCROLLING THROUGH THE PAIN
This is a call to stop scrolling through the pain and start seeking the light. If you choose to look at Jesus in the midst of the crisis, you activate a different perspective: you stop seeing yourself as a trapped victim and start seeing yourself as someone in the process of formation. The pit is dark, but if you keep your eyes on the light, you will discover that God is using that place to propel you toward something much greater than you can imagine.
