Love that endures
Ephesians 4:2
"We love him because he first loved us."
"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love."
The main lesson of this passage is that unity and peace in any relationship, especially in the church, are not automatic. They require conscious effort and the practice of specific virtues. Paul emphasizes that to bear the imperfections and differences of others, we need humility, gentleness, and patience.
Put pride aside
Humility is vital for a couple. It means being willing to apologize first, admit mistakes, and not always insist on being right.
Please reply kindly
Gentleness in a couple is manifested in the way they react to disagreements. Instead of raising their voices or being harsh, the couple chooses to respond gently, maintaining an atmosphere of respect.
Accept imperfections
The command to "bear with one another patiently" is one of the greatest tests of love. Every person has habits, weaknesses, or mistakes that can be frustrating. This verse teaches that true love is not blind, but is capable of seeing imperfections and choosing to bear them patiently, without complaining or holding a grudge..
