God is my guide

Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

Biblical Context
This verse, part of Psalm 27, is a profound expression of trust in God in the midst of adversity. The psalmist, believed to be David, finds himself in a difficult situation and facing powerful enemies. However, instead of giving in to fear, he declares his trust in the Lord as his only source of light, salvation and strength.

David, throughout his life, experienced numerous challenges and persecutions. This psalm reflects his personal experience of depending on God in difficult times. In writing these words, David is expressing his conviction that God is his safe haven and protector.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation.”
This statement means that God is the psalmist's guide and deliverer. In the midst of darkness and danger, God is his only hope.

“of whom shall I fear? of whom shall I be afraid?":
These rhetorical questions emphasize David's absolute trust in God. If God is with him, why fear his enemies?

God as our strength:
It is a powerful reminder that, no matter what the circumstances, we can find security and strength in God. It is an invitation to trust Him fully and to live a life centered on His will.
