YAHVÉ-RAPHA: GOD OUR HEALER
Biblical Context
The name YHWH-Rapha appears explicitly in Exodus 15:26, where God tells Israel: "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in his sight, and pay attention to his commandments and keep all their statutes, I will not send any of the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians to you, for I am the LORD your healer."
In this verse, God presents himself as the healer of his people, promising to free them from the diseases and evils that had afflicted the Egyptians.
Physical health:
Yahweh-Tsidkenu is a central concept in the doctrine of justification by faith. It teaches us that we are justified, declared righteous, not by our works, but by faith in Christ.
Emotional health:
God also heals emotional wounds, such as pain, sadness, and loss. He can restore our inner peace and heal our hearts.
Spiritual healing:
Yahweh-Rapha reminds us that God can heal our spirit from sin and restore us to an intimate relationship with Him.
